Leo D. Ackerman, 54, died un expectedly at his home, 110 Hawthorne Ave., at 9 a. m. Tuesday, of a cerebral hemorrhage.

A fire department inhalator quad administered oxygen for 10 minutes, but was unable to save his life.

He was born in Anamosa, on Mar. 3, 1902, the son of Frank and Louisa Ackerman. Mr. Ackerman married Ella Aries on May 2, 1925, in Waterloo. He was employed at the Rath Packing Co.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving are his wife, on daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Williams 1224 Hartman Ave.; two sisters Mrs. John Rooff, 447 La Port Rd., and Miss Marguerite Ackerman, San Diego, Calif.; two brothers, Frank, residing in Oregon and Leon of San Diego, Cal: Four grandchildren also survive.

The body is at Locke funeral Home.
