Funeral services for Grover M. (Dooley) Kirsch, 71, of 415 Charles St., who died Wednesday morning at the Veterans hospital in Iowa City, will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. L. W. Klassen, pastor, officiating.
Mr. Kirsch was born March 11, 1893, in Waterloo the son of Nicholas and Margaret Wagner Kirsch. He married Mayme Wagner on April 7, 1920, in Waterloo.
He served with the National Guard along the Mexican border as well as overseas in World War I. Mr. Kirsch was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church, Becker Chapman post 138 of the American Legion, the Elks Club, the Moose and the Eagles Club.
Mr. Kirsch is survived by two sons, James of 415 Charles St., and Paul of 59 Franklin St.; seven grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Marguerite Harris of Detroit.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one daughter, two sisters and one brother.
A parish rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the O'Keefe and Towne funeral home. Friends may call after 5 p.m. Thursday.
