WATERLOO - Velma Urith Johnson, 83, of Knoxville, Tenn., formerly of Waterloo, died Nov. 13, at Brakebill Nursing Home, Knoxville.

She was born Dec. 5, 1922, in Liberty Township, daughter of Elmer and Zelma Bearbower. She married Everett Martin Johnson in Memphis, Mo. He preceded her in death in 1996.

She worked at Hinson Manufacturing in Waterloo.

Survived by a son, Gary (Linda) of Bolivar, Tenn.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Geraldine (Harold) Marshall and Phyllis (Dick) Pickelman, both of Lincoln, Mo.

Preceded in death by a son, Jerry; and two brothers, Alvin Bearbower and Robert Bearbower.

Memorial services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Cedar Valley Community Church, Waterloo.
