[Waterloo Semi Weekly Courier, Tuesday, May 4, 1909, Waterloo, Iowa]

Readers have asked for more complete data of the life history of Mrs. J. W. Williams, who died at Clear Lake, S. D., on April 23, last, and who brought to this city for interment in Elmwood Cemetery, funeral services being conducted last Sunday from First Baptist Church.

The maiden name of the decedent. was Anna M. Hedinger and she was born at Hagerstown, Md., on Nov. 17, 1838. Her parents died when she was about seven years of age and she then went with foster parents to Cumberland, O., where she resided until she was 22 years of age, coming to Waterloo in 1860.

She was married in this city to J. W. Williams on Oct. 6, 1862, and in 1868 the family removed to a farm some eight miles from this city. They resided on the farm until 1883, when they came to Waterloo, making their home here until 1900. In that year they removed to Clear Lake, S. D.

Mrs. Williams was a member of the Christian church during her childhood in Ohio and after coming to Waterloo she became a member of the First M. B. church. After locating in Clear Lake, S. D., she affiliated with the First Baptist church of that place.

The widower and one son survive. The son is Joseph O. Williams and he is a resident of Clear Lake. Mr Williams expects to leave for his home tonight.

Her husband was John Wesley Williams (1834 - 1917)
