WATERLOO — Robert “Bob” James Cole, 100, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo.

He was born Sept. 22, 1912, in rural Orchard, son of Earl and Nellie Clark Cole. On Aug. 14, 1933, he married Gertrude Casey in Waterloo. She preceded him in death.

Mr. Cole graduated from Orchard High in 1931, then went to work driving a truck for his dad. He also worked at Oliver Tractor Works and retired from Titus Manufacturing. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Waterloo.

Survived by two daughters, Janet Leach of Kalamazoo, Mich., and Karen (Ron) Buchan of Waterloo; a daughter-in-law, Patti Cole of Cedar Falls; 13 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a son, Jim; two brothers; and two sisters.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery, both in Waterloo. Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, Waterloo, with an 8 p.m. rosary.
