WATERLOO — David E. McCollom, 56, of Waterloo, died at home Friday, Aug. 30, 2013.

He was born Jan. 29, 1957, in Jefferson, son of Larry and Patricia Mooney McCollom. He married Maxine Petersen on Aug. 26, 2004, in Waterloo.

He graduated from Waterloo East High School and attended Hawkeye Community College. Mr. McCollom worked as a computer tech for Stefanini Tech Group. He also served in the U.S. Army.

Survived by his father of Waterloo; his wife; a son, Josh of Alabama; a daughter, Sara (Anthony) Harper of Evansdale; two stepsons, Nick Brecunier, stationed in Chicago, and David Brecunier of Waterloo; 10 grandchildren; a brother, Scott (Kelly) of Kansas; and a sister, Lea (Steven) Bohlen of Florida.

Preceded in death by his mother.

Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Kearns Funeral Service-Kimball Chapel. Visitation from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
