WATERLOO — Lorraine M. Lingua, 95, of Waterloo, died Friday, Aug. 23, 2013, at ManorCare Health Services of natural causes.

She was born July 30, 1918, in Elk River, Minn., daughter of L.R. “Bill” and Marie Brown Berry. She married Joseph A. Lingua Sr. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Waterloo, on Nov. 24, 1945. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Lingua graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1936, and prior to her marriage worked at John Deere. Later she and her husband owned Union Plumbing and Sheet Metal Co. and J&L Plumbing and Heating Co. She was a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star.

Survived by a son, Joseph A. Jr. (Judy) of Waterloo; a daughter, Regina M. (Allen) Dietz of Hudson; six grandchildren, Lisa (Dave) Young, Nick (Angelina) Lingua, Annie (Dan) Olsen, Christina (JR Reints) Dietz, Lauren Dietz and James Dietz; seven great-grandchildren, AJ Young, Jacob Young, Aliviah Lingua, Natalie Olsen, Isaiah Olsen, Andrew Olsen and Andrew Reints; a nephew, Gary Hesse; and two nieces, Trivona Drewis, and Jean Rogers.

Preceded in death by her parents; a son, Steven; and a sister, Marguerite Hesse.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church, preceded by burial at 9:30 a.m. in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service.

The family wishes to thank the staff at NewAldaya Lifescapes and also Manor Care for the care Mom received in their units.
