JOCHUMSEN DIES AFTER GALLANT BATTLE FOR LIFE

Young Golf Star Victim of Anemia at C.F.; Funeral Wednesday

CEDAR FALLS - Harold Jochumsen amateur golfer who held city and county championship as result of contests here and at Waterloo, died at Sartort Memorial Hospital here Monday evening from anemia after a determined fight to prolong life. He had received blood transfusions from a brother, Tony, on four occasions, the last Monday morning. Jochumsen was stricken with the fatal illness as tin aftermath of influenza.

The. funeral Wednesday afternoon in Nazareth Lutheran church will be at 2:30 o'clock, following a brief prayer service at 2 at the family home, 1303 Walnut Street, Rev. Otto J. Nielsen, pastor, will officiate at church and home. The burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.

Jochumsen had been prominent in golf In this section for a number of years. He had competed in state tournaments as well as those of his home town and Waterloo.

He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Jochumsen, and was born in Cedar Falls on April 1, 1908. He was graduated from the city high school here in 1926. When stricken by illness, he was an office employee of Rath Packing company, at Waterloo.

Surviving are the parents, five brothers and two sisters: Alex and Anton Jochumsen and Mrs. Andrew Madsen, Cedar Falls; John and Edward Jochumsen, Waterloo; Arnold Jochumsen, Albert Lea, Minn.; Mrs. R. F. Perriam, Oak Park, Ill.
