A memorial Mass for Mark M. Butterfield, 78, of 243 Windsor Drive, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Edward's Catholic Church with burial at a later date at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Mr. Butterfield died at
his home Sunday night.

He was born Aug. 21, 1905, at Waterloo, son of Mark John and Mary Mullan Butterfield. He married Theo Glaw Oct. 14, 1931, at Rock Island, Ill.

He attended Creighton University in Omaha, Neb., and practiced law in Waterloo for 45 years, retiring in 1970, when he and his wife moved to Florida. They returned to Waterloo in 1979.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Anne Hurley of 814 Bourland Ave. and Mary J. Muir of 1165 Dixon Drive; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

There will be no visitatipn at O'Keefe & Towne-Carter & Waychoff Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the National Diabetes Association.
