Funeral services will be a 2 p.m. Tuesday al the Kearns Dykeman Chapel for Howard C. Carr, 77. of 924 Lafayette St., who died at 11:55 a.m. yesterday at Schoitz Memorial Hospital of a heart condition. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.

He was born on July 6, 1894, the son of Robert D. and Bertha Hobert Carr at Woodstock, Ill. He married Ethel Saunders on May 24, 1916 at Goshen, Ind.

Mr. Carr was a machinist fo the Illinois Central Railroad for 50 years, retiring in 1961. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and a member of the International Association of Machinists Local No. 1081. He had been a resident of Waterloo for 65 years, coming from Woodstock, Ill.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Harry of 605 Avon Ave., and Robert of Lemon Grove, Calif.; one brother, Robert D. of Finchford; four sisters, Mrs. Frank Harrington of Rt. 5. Waterloo, Miss Clara Carr of the Barton Convalescent Home, Mrs. Arnold Wilson of 115 Summit Ave. and Mrs. Don
Nation, 78 Zuma St.; five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.
