Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Ansgar's Lutheran Church for Mrs. Johanne Jacobsen, 73, of 1247 Sylvia St., who died at 9 a.m. Sunday at the Carr Nursing Home of cancer.

Friends may call at Kearns-Dykeman Chapel from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday when the body will be taken to the church where friends may call until service time. The Rev. Arnold B. Stilwell Jr., pastor of Bethleham Lutheran Church of Cedar Falls will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

She was born Johanne Jepsen in Froup,, Denmark, on March 22, 1897, the daughter of John and Christine Hansen Jepsen. She came to Cedar Falls in 1912. She marrried Chris Jacobsen on Aug. 25, 1820, in Cedar Falls, and they were engaged in farming in the Cedar Falls, Hudson and Dunkerton area. She moved to Waterloo in 1947, after the death of her husband.

Mrs. Jacobsen was a member of St. Ansgar's Lutheran Church and the Ladies' Aid of the church and was also a member of the Auxiliary of the Becker Chapman Post No. 138, American Legion.

She is survived by two sons, Carl of 1247 Sylvia St., and Ernest of Jesup; two daughters, Mrs. William Sulentic of 227 Crestview Ave., and Mrs. Gordon Zelsdorf, of 2180 Lafayette St.; one brother John Jespen of St. Louis, Mo.; two sisters, Mrs. Jessie Thulstrup of 1560 Independence Ave., and Mrs. Martha Ulderup of Denmark, 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and 10 sisters.
