Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Payne AME Church for Charlie Sims, 68, of 438 Adams St.. who died Sunday at 1:35 a.m. in St. Francis Hospital of a heart condition. Friends may call at Kaarns-Dykeman Chapel after 7 p.m. Monday.

He was born on Dec. 30, 1904, the son of Marshall and Rosa Mae Anderson Sims at Washington. Ga.
He married Dressie Hutchions on July 10, 1965 at Preston, Minn. Mr. Sims had been a resident of Waterloo since 1958, earning here from Indiananolis.

He was a custodian at Columbus High School since 1967, retiring last December because of ill health. He was a member of the Payne AME Church.

Surviving are one step son, Harris Caesar of 104 Candlewick Road; three step daughters, Mrs. Henry Roby of 515 Warren Drive; Mrs. Russell J. Burt of 713 Cottage St.; Mrs. LeRoy Sheckles of San Diego. Calif.; two brothers, Marshall of San Bernardino. Calif.; James of Ohio; three sisters, Mrs. Lenal Applin of Reading, Pa.; Mrs. Albert Alexander of 503 Ankeny St.: Mrs. Rosa Nell Pittmon of Washington, D. C.
He was preceded in death by one brother, one sister and by his wife in July.
