WATERLOO - Willie J. "Will" Pittman, 79, of 4004 Richland Avenue, Waterloo, died Monday, February 6th, 2006, from complications of an extended illness. A celebration of life service, in Will's honor, is to be held on Saturday, February 11th, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at the Shiloh Baptist Church, 9th & Clay, Cedar Falls, IA with Pastor Darin Ulmer officiating.

Will was born on September 9, 1926, in Bogalusa, LA., the son of Jewel and Annie (Railey) Pittman. Will proudly served in the United States Navy from 1944 to 1946 and was stationed on the U.S.S Copahee in the South Pacific during WWII. He married Marijean Gardner on May 3rd, 1946 in Seattle, WA. Will was a Railroad Electrician for Illinois Central for 43 years. He was a member of AMVETS Post # 49 in Cedar Falls, and a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. He also liked to play golf, garden, do woodworking and had an amazing talent to fix everything. Most importantly, Will loved to spend time with his family and friends.

Will is survived by his wife Marijean "Jeanie" of the home, one son Kenneth (Karen) of Elkader, IA, two daughters Cathy Lowe of Hattiesburg, MS and Kelly (Mike) Schurman of Littleton, CO, 8 Grandchildren and 12 Great-Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one great-grandchild.

A memorial has been established in Will's name and may be directed to the family. Arrangements are being handled by The Cremation Society of Eastern-Western-Central Iowa.
