Richard John Topping, 83, retired farmer living at 208 East Eighth Street, died there at 8:45 a. m. Monday of a heart attack.
He was born on a farm in Jones County, Iowa, on July 14, 1860, and married Etta Mae Quaintance at Castle Grove, Ia., on April 14, 1892.
Five daughters and two sons survive: Mmes. Mary Tucker, Cottage Grove, Ore.; Paul Miller, Bowler, Wis.; Elsie Caraway, Cedar Rapids, la.; Lucille Weisert, La Porte City. la., and Clara Collins, 208 East Eighth Street; and John Topping, Route 2, and Robert, 208 East Eighth. A sister, Mrs. Anna Aldrich, Monticello, Ia., 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, also survive.
