EVANSDALE — Ronald Edward Neuendorf, 68, of Evansdale, died Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013, at the Buchanan County Health Center, Independence, following a sudden illness.
He was born Aug. 25, 1944, in Waterloo, son of Evert William Edward Neuendorf and Eva May Lee. On May 31, 1969, he married Margaret Mae Federspiel at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Raymond.
Mr. Neuendorf graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1962, then served in the U.S. Navy. He was employed at John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works, retiring in 1998. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and formerly a member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Jesup.
Survived by his wife; two daughters, Lanette (Donald) Bloes and Brenda (David) Michael, both of Jesup; five grandchildren; two brothers, Harlan (Kimberly) of Waterloo and Rick (Cherrie) of Montrose, Colo.; and two sisters, Wilma Ehrhardt of Cedar Falls and Ruth Keathley of St. Genevieve, Mo.
Preceded in death by his parents.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Jesup, with burial in the church cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by Pump-Scheer American Legion Post 342 of Jesup. Visitation from 3 to 7 p.m. today at White Funeral Home, Jesup, with a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also an hour before services Friday at the church.
