Goodrum W. Buttolph. 65, of 1126 Washington St., died at 1:10 p. m. Sunday at Schoitz Memorial Hospital following a coronary thrombosis.
Mr. Buttolph was born in Lone Rock, Ark., on Aug. 17, 1898 the son of Elmer and Myrtle Seeman Buttolph. He moved with his family to Riceville in his early youth. He was married in New Hampton on July 4, 1919, to Miss Golda Torney, who preceded him in death on Feb 12, 1962.
He was a veteran of both World War I and World War II. He was a member of Becker Chapman Post No. 138 of the American Legion. Mr. Buttolph had been a resident of Waterloo since 1927. For a number of years he was employed at the Rath Packing Co., retiring in 1958.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Maxine Embrey of 1126 Washington St.; one son, Donald B. of Janesville, Wis.; two sisters, Mrs Susan Windedahl of Austin Minn.; Mrs. Vera Wendorff of Osage; two brothers, Eugene of Riceville and Rollo of Osage; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death besides his wife, by his parents, three sisters, two brothers, one son and four grandchildren.
Funeral services are pending at the O'Keefe & Towne Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Goodrum W. Buttolph, 65, of 1126 Washington St., will be conducted at 3 p. m. Wednesday at O'Keefe & Towne Funeral Home. The Rev. Paul Jamieson, pastor of Wesleyan Methodist Church of Fayette, will officiate, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Mr. Buttolph died Sunday at Schoitz Memorial Hospital following a coronary thrombosis.
