WATERLOO — Edward T. Lynch, 80, of 327 Alta Vista Ave., died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2000, at Covenant Medical Center of natural causes.

He was born Aug. 11, 1920, in Waterloo, son of Joseph and Helena Glass Lynch. He married Catherine E. May on June 16,1951, in Waterloo.

Mr. Lynch was employed at John Deere for 33 years, retiring in 1982. He was a U.S. Army Air Forces veteran of World War II.

Survived by his wife; four daughters, Mary Mulvey of Grand Prairie, Texas, Cathy Wendel of Clarion, and Joanne Roche and Carol Patterson, both of Waterloo; two sons, Bob and Steve, both of Waterloo; 13 grandchildren; a greatgranddaughter, two sisters, Margaret Bomong and Helen Marie McClain, both of Waterloo; and a brother, Earl of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by a son, Joe; and three brothers, Jack, Bob and Dick.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St John's Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where there will be a 4 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also for an hour before services Wednesday at the church.

Memorials may be made to Covenant House in New York City.
