DIES FROM HURTS
IN AUTO COLLISION

Theron Scott, 18, Had Just
Addressed Invitations to
His Graduation.

Theron Scott. 18, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard L. Scott, 205 Lamson Street, a member of the senior class of West High School, died at 4:30 a. m. today in Allen Memorial Hospital of a skull fracture received In an automobile crash at 8:15 p. m. yesterday at Sycamore Street and Mullan Avenue.

Young Scott had just completed at his home addressing invitations to his friends for the graduation exercises of West High on June 8, and with three companions was on his way to a theatre when the coupe in which the boys were riding collided with a car driven by Miss Emma West, 2324 Lafayette Street.

The boys' car, driven by Rollo Geisler, 634 Magnolia Street, an employee of the Silvers Manufacturing Company, was going east on Mullan Avenue. Theron Scott was riding outside the coupe on the running board. Miss Wast, who is a telephone operator for the Northwestern Bell Telephone company, was on her way home after work.

Scott was hurled to the pavement. He was taken to the hospital in the police ambulance by Sgt. P. E. Walker and Officer Roy Colvin. The injured youth did not regain consciousness.

Funeral services will be at 10 a. m. Monday in the Petersen Bros, chapel. Rev. F. H. Shcdd, pastor of Northminster Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview.

Theron Scott was born Aug 13, 1909, at Waverly, la. He came to Waterloo with his parents 15 years ago, and attended west district grade schools until he entered West High four years ago. He attended Northminster Presbyterian Sunday school.

Surviving are his parents, a sister, Armintha, 7, and a brother Reuben, 12.

When editors of the Spectator annual of West High school were casting about for a suitable slogan to write under the picture of one of their classmates who would have graduated June 8, Theron Scott, 18, 205 Lamson Street, they could not realize that a few short days would bring tragic fruitage to the single line -'they wrote: "My task is done." Theron Scott's task is done. He died yesterday as a result of injuries received in an, automobile collision Thursday evening.

All students of West High school who wish to attend his funeral Monday at 10 a. m. in Petersen Bros.' Chapel, will be dismissed from their classes. Burial will be in Fairview.
