CEDAR FALLS - Kathleen Gordon, 63, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, July 20, 2008, of cancer, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

She was born April 19, 1945 in Evanston, IL the daughter of Michael E. and Viola M. (Carlson) McGarry, Sr. She married John J. Gordon III on August 27, 1966 in Park Ridge, IL.

Mrs. Gordon earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Northern Iowa in 1991. She was a homemaker for her family and an active member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband of Cedar Falls; two sons, J.P. Gordon of Cedar Falls and Kevin (Christine) Gordon of Davenport; a daughter, Deborah (Joseph) Wagner of North Liberty; four grandchildren, Samuel, Elizabeth and Leah Wagner of North Liberty, and Logan Gordon of Davenport; two brothers, Michael (Eileen) McGarry, Jr. of Park Ridge, IL, and Patrick (Judy) McGarry of Millersville, MD; and a sister, Mary Haller of Greenville, SC.

Preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law, James Haller.

Mass will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick Catholic Church with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the church, where there will be an 8 p.m. vigil service. Richardson Funeral Home (266-3525) is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center or Cedar Valley Hospice.
