Cedar Falls man's body
found in auto wreckage

WAVERLY—A Cedar Falls man, missing for about a week, was found dead in his crashed car about 4 p.m. Friday in a wooded area near Frederika. Bremer County authorities identified the victim as Kenneth Scott Nelson, 29, of 912 Orchard Dr., Cedar Falls. His body was found by a group of snowmobilers in the wooded area about a mile south of Frederika, off Highway 334.

Officers said Nelson's body was in the car which had left the road and rolled 200 feet, landing on its top. When the car was moved, no snow was found underneath, giving an indication of how long the vehicle had been in that location.

An autopsy was to be performed Saturday at St. Francis Hospital in Waterloo. Officers said Nelson left home Sunday night and was reported missing Wednesday morning.
