WATERLOO - Lila D. Shreve was born February 27, 1906, in Butler County, Iowa, the daughter of John and Rachel (Yost) McLaren.

On February 24, 1924, she was united in marriage to Myrle R. Shreve in Mason City, Iowa. He died July 22, 1964. Her life was spent serving others as a homemaker, loving mother, and licensed practical nurse.

She is survived by three daughters, Kay D. Bevins of Cedar Falls, Karyl J. Scrogg and Karla D. Smallwood, both of Waterloo; son, Kendil McLaren (Wendy) Shreve of Appleton, WI; seventeen grandchildren; twenty eight great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Lila died Thursday, January 26, 2006, at the Shell Rock Health Care Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, Jack, Vernon and Don McLaren; three sisters, Doris Schaeffer, Thelma Tellinghuisen, and Merna Van Duyn; daughter and son-in-law, Karen Lee and Pastor Lynnford Edwards; son, Keith M. Shreve; and two grandchildren, Michael M. and Mary Shreve.
