Mary Ellen Wallbaum, 91, of Canby, Ore., formerly from Waverly and Cedar Falls, died June 22, 2013, at Radcleff Place, Canby, of natural causes.

She was born Feb. 7, 1922, in Waverly, daughter of Edward and Ada Fuller Van Dorn. She married Fred R. Wallbaum on May 10, 1942, at The Baptist Church, Lebanon, Mo. He died in the early 1990s.

Mrs. Wallbaum was a graduate of Waverly High School and had worked for Cedar Falls Utilities, Cedar Falls, retiring in the early 1980s. She was a member of The Lutheran Church, Waverly, and later was a member of Canby Christian Church.

Survived by a son, Russell Edward (Tish) of Canby; five grandchildren, Nathan (Jocelyn) Wallbaum, Camie (Zachary) Elliott, Adrianne Woltering, Brian (Dawn) and Kim (TJ) Kerr; 11 great-grandchildren, Elijah, Noah, Savannah, Selah, Bella, Holland, Olivia, Makai, Alex, Cody and Branden.

Preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Danny, Rex, Stuart, Romaine, Lyle, and Galen; Van Dorn; four sisters, Vesta, Vivian, Ada and Estella; and a son, Ronald R.

Celebration of Life service: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, preceded by an hour of visitation, with inurnment in Harlington Cemetery, both in Waverly.
