Funeral services for Mrs. Effie Spurlin, 82, of 4lO E. 10th St., who died of a massive hemorrhage at 6 p.m. Thursday at Schoitz Memorial Hospital will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Chapel of Memories West where friends may call from 5 p.m. Saturday to service time. The casket will not be open after the service.

She was born Effie Bolin Aug. 10, 1888, at Wapella, Illinois, daughter Of John and Mollie Lee Bolin, and was married in 1905 to George Scoles in Wisconsin. He died and she subsequently was married in Waterloo Oct. 26, 1945, to Reeves J. Spurlin.

Mrs. Spurlin came 51 years ago to Waterloo after residing 19 years at Clarksville. She was a member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors include one son, Raymond Scoles, 1025 Midland St. Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Thelme M. Heinzen of Littleton, and Mrs. Helen V. Miller, 319 Belmont St.; a sister, Mrs. Cecil Young of Menahga, Minn., along with seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, three brothers and three sisters.
