Services for George P. Helm Sr., 80, of rural Readlyn, will be 2:30 p.m. Monday at Parrott and Wood Funeral Home with burial at Poyner Township Cemetery. He died Thursday evening at St. Francis Hospital.

He was born Nov. 11, 1899, at Thompson, the son of Anton and Ernestine Helm. He married Kathrine Wical, Nov. 11, 1939, at Brownsville, Texas.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, George Jr. of Oelweta, Anton of Readlyn and Ralph Wical of Jacksonville, Fla.; two daughters, Mrs. Peggy Ann Stokes of Reinbeck, and Mrs. Maxine Gerst of 1323 Grandview Ave.; two brothers, Fred and Richard, both of California; five sisters: Mrs. Louise Major, Mrs. Ruth Stone, Mrs. Helen Riley and Mrs. Minnie Johnson, all of California, and Mrs. Marian Means of Kansas City, Mo.; and several grandchildren.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
