CEDAR FALLS - Edward Douglas "Eddie" Holtz, 31, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, Jan. 7, 2006, at 1314 1/2 W. Third St., Waterloo, from complications of diabetes and Graves disease.

He was born Sept. 22, 1974, in Iowa City, son of David Paul and Shirley McCabe Holtz. He had studied journalism at Hawkeye Community College for two years. He had been disabled.

Survivors include his mother of Decorah; three sisters, Anastasia Holtz of Vail, Colo., Katherine and Celeste Holtz, both of Decorah; paternal grandfather, Paul Holtz of Waterloo; and maternal grandfather, Edward McCabe of Decorah.

Preceded in death by: his father; paternal grandmother, Zelpha Holtz; and maternal grandmother, Celeste McCabe.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with inurnment in Decorah at a later date. Friends may call for an hour before services Wednesday at the church. Richardson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
