WATERLOO — Marion W. Wood, 96, of Friendship Village, died there Monday, July 22, 2013.

She was born Jan. 3, 1917, in Plainfield, N.J., daughter of Thomas W. and Mary Jane Bates Wyke. She married Theodore Wood on June 9, 1946, in Minneapolis. He died April 21, 2012.

Mrs. Wood graduated from Plainfield High School in New Jersey in 1934, and attended the Pace Institute in New York City. Prior to her marriage she was a legal secretary in New York City. After they moved to Waterloo in 1972, she was a legal secretary for Swisher and Cohrt Law Firm. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and PEO Chapter LO.

Survived by two nieces, Audrey Milley of Fernandina, Fla., and Mary Jane (Scott) Powers of Tucson, Ariz.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Andrew and Alfred Wyke.

Memorial services: 2 p.m. Friday at Westminster Presbyterian Church, with inurnment in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements by Locke Funeral Home.

Memorials may be driected to the church or Friendship Village Foundation.
