Services for Mrs. Zan A. Carnes, 86, of 541 Ardian St who died at home at 2 p.m. Friday of a stroke, will be held at 11 a. m. Tuesday at Parrot and Wood Funeral Home.

She was born Blanche Zeisig Sept. 24, 1882, in Muscatine Co. the daughter of Charles and Julia Hain Zeisig. She married Zan Carnes May 17, 1905, at Moscow. They moved to Waterloo in 1910.

She was member of Eastern Star, Temple Rebecca Lodge and Royal Neighbors of America. She was a precinct committee woman and worked on the election board many years. She was of the Methodist faith.

Survived by her husband and a daughter, Grace, at home.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
