LT. COL. HORACE E. PIKE

Funeral services for Lt. Co. Horace E. Pike, 45, a lifelong resident of Waterloo, will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at O'keefe & Towne Funeral Home. Rev. Charles F. Jacobs, pastor of the First Congregational Church, will officiate and burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family requests that flowers be omitted.

Colonel Pike died of carcinoma of the lung at William Beaumont army hospital, El Paso, Tex., Thursday evening. He was a former assistant attorney general of Iowa and a member of the law firm of Pike, Sias and Butler.

He was a member of General Eisenhower's staff in Europe until becoming ill in December.

Princeton, Ill. - Miss Dorothy Cooper of Davenport, IA., and Horace E. Pike of Waterloo, Ia., were married at the Methodist Episcopal parsonage Friday,

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Cooper, Hedrlck, la. She was graduated from the University of Iowa in 1930, where she was a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority, and from Stephens college, Columbia, Mo., in 1928.

Pike is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George E. Pike, Waterloo, and is now associated with his father's law
firm of Pike, Sias, Zimmerman & Butler. He was graduated from the college of law at the University of Iowa in 1931 and from Union college, Schnectady, N. Y. in 1928. He Is a member of Beta Theta Pi social fraternity and Phi Alpha Delta legal fraternity.

He has been prominently identified with activities of the Waterloo Junior Chamber of Commerce and is a lieutenant in the organized reserve corps, recently completing a tour of active duty at Ft. Snelling, Minn. Mr. and Mrs. Pike will be at home in Waterloo after Nov. 1.
