Funeral services for Walter C. Johnson, 82, who died Friday at 9:30 p. m., of complications due to advanced age, will be tomorrow at 2 p. m. at Ray Hurley Chapel. Rev. Fred E. Miller, pastor of First Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

Johnson died following a long illness in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Verna Halbmaier, 1736 Wlllliston Avenue, following an extended period of ill health.

A resident of Waterloo since 1920, Mr. Johnson was born Jan. 9, 1870, at Medota, Ill., a son of Truman and Mary Melugian Johnson.

On Jan. 2, 1895*, he was united in marriage to Mary Alvaretta Bushey. He was a member of the First Methodist Church. His wife preceded him in death Feb. 11, 1945.

Surviving Mr. Johnson are two daughters, Mrs. Halbmaier, with whom he has lived for a long period, and Mrs. Phyllis Eidahl, of 1211 Commercial Street. There are also a sister, Mrs. Ada Bean, of Clear Lake, la., and one brother, Wilbur Johnson, of Los Angeles, Cal, in addition to even grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death, besides his wife, by four brothers and four sisters.
