Luella M. Kloberdanz, 92, of Waterloo, died Sunday, July 14, 2013, in Hospice at home of natural causes in Waterloo. She was born July 6, 1921, in Riceville, daughter of Frank and Winifred Fox Marley. She married George D. Kloberdanz on July 12, 1941, at St. Peter Catholic Church, New Haven. He died on Feb. 27, 2003.

She graduated from St. Mary’s High School, New Haven. She was a homemaker and raised 11 children and cared for all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a lifelong learner, enjoyed reading, traveling, and lived her life as a devout Catholic.

She is survived by two sons, Gary (Lynn) Kloberdanz of Waterloo and Gregg (Jeanne) Kloberdanz of Jesup; and nine daughters, Eileen (Joe) Wier, Connie (Tom) O’Rourke, Joann (Dan) Young, Debra (Mike) O’Neil, Diana Kloberdanz, Barbara (Dan) Woodley, Vicki (Rod) Hemsath and Lisa (Van) Blair, all of Waterloo, and Jane (Jon) Shirk of Red Wing, Minn.; 21 grandchildren, Tara, Ryan, Shannon, Joshua, Carrie, Tyree, Brett, Katie, Danielle, Zachary, Nathan, Jason, Jamie, Wesley, Jesse, Courtney, Kyle, Maggie, Collin, Krista and Katelyn; and 14 great-grandchildren; one brother, Gene (LaVonne) Marley of Waterloo; two sisters, Cassie (John) Kloberdanz of Osage and Sister Ann Marley, SSND of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and three sisters-in-law, Jan Marley (Dave), Gert (Joe) Kloberdanz and Magdalene (Eugene) Wagner.

She was preceded in death by one infant grandson, Kade Blair; two sisters Marian Stibal and Madeline Shovein; one brother, Dave Marley; brothers-in-law Bob Stibal, John Shovein, John P. Kloberdanz, John A. Kloberdanz, Jacob A. Kloberdanz, Peter A. Kloberdanz, Joseph D. Kloberdanz, Roy Redecker, Alex Schwab, Donald Greenlee, LeRoy Claassen and Eugene Wagner; and sisters-in-law Christina Redecker, Anna Schwab, Betty Greenlee, Peggy Claassen, Kathryn Kloberdanz, Lucille Kloberdanz and Elsie Kloberdanz.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 18, at St. Edward Church, with interment at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation Wednesday, July 17, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, where there will be a 7 p.m. vigil. Also, visitation will be one hour before Mass at St. Edward Catholic Church the day of the funeral.
