Donagene L. Lattin, 83, of Windcove Retirement Community, Cedar Falls died Thursday, December 18, 2008 at Sartori Memorial Hospital.

She was born April 29, 1925 in Cedar Falls, daughter of Arthur and Georgia Stewart Runft. She married Dr. Richard T. Lattin on May 29, 1948, in Cedar Falls. He died July 16, 2001.

Mrs. Lattin graduated from Iowa State Teachers College in 1947, where she was a member of Sigma Alpha Iota, Honorary Music Fraternity for Women. Listed in Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges, she attended American Conservatory of Music in Chicago from 1947-1948. Mrs. Lattin was a vocal music instructor at Hudson High School from 1948-1949. She was a member of Cedar Falls Women's Club, UNI Connections, St. Patrick's Church, and a frequent community and church vocal soloist.

Survived by two sons, Marc (Barbara) Lattin of Cedar Falls, and R. Thomas (Natalie) Lattin of The Woodlands, TX; three daughters, Jean (Jim) Lenzmeier of Peoria, AZ, Catherine (Phil) Farrell of Vancouver, WA, and Mary (Kevin) Waters of Shoreview, MN; nine grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a brother, Arthur J. Runft, of Mequon, WI.

Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick Catholic Church with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Friends may call from 1 to 5 PM on Sunday at Richardson Funeral Home, where there will be a 4 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also for one hour before services Monday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the University of Northern Iowa Foundation, St. Patrick's Catholic Church, or a charity of your choice.
