News of the death of Charles A. Thompson, formerly of this city, of influenza, in a hospital in Indianapolis, Ind. was received by relatives here today.

Four weeks ago his wife died of the same disease and their four children, boys ranging in age from two to 14 years, are left fatherless and motherless.

Charles A. Thompson was born in this county, about 38 years ago, being the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Thompson, the father being overseer of the poor for a number of years.

Two sisters survive, Mrs. W. H. Mienael and Mrs. Neal McDougal of Waterloo.
