Services for Ralph C. Tarkett, 71, of 2215 Randolph St., will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Oppold Funeral Home, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Mr. Tarkett died Saturday (Jan. 2, 1988) at his home of natural causes.

He was bom May 14, 1916, in Waterloo, the son of Joseph and Barbara Welter Tarkett. He and Anne Alice Merely were married May 7, 1936, in Waterloo. She died Nov. 27, 1983.

He was employed as an engineering analyst at Deere & Co., retiring in 1973.

Survivors include two sons, Ralph "Dick" of Mesa, Ariz., and Jerry of Waterloo; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Calvin of Woodward, and Floyd of Los Angeles; and two sisters, Thelma Adishian of Oakland, Calif., and Maxine Kebschull of Waterloo.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, LeRoy and Donald.

There will be a Scripture service at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home, where friends may call after 3 p.m. today.

Memorials may be directed to St. Mary's Catholic Church or Columbus High School.
