EVANSDALE - Avis P. Gross, 98, of Evansdale, died Saturday, December 6, 1997, at Parkview Nursing and Rehab Center of natural causes.

She was born march 3, 1899, in Stone Hill, Mo., daughter of William and Minnie Wilhite Corcran. She married Arthur Gross on December 20, 1921, in Cedar Rapids. He died October 7, 1964.

Mrs. Gross worked in the sliced bacon department at Rath Packing Co.

Survived by a son, Wayne of Waterloo; nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Georgia Wenner of Naples, Fla.

Preceded in death by a son, Dale; and five brothers: Wilbur, Clyde, Jim, Van and Billy Corcran.

Services 3 p.m. Wednesday at Chapel of Memories West, Waterloo, with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Garden, Cedar Falls. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and for an hour before services Wednesday at the Chapel
