WATERLOO — Gordon Lou Moser, 77, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, July 3, 2013, in DeSoto, Wis., from a heart attack.

He was born May 25, 1936, in Waterloo, son of Carl and Lucia Johnson Moser. He married Judy Lee Sylwester on Feb. 11, 1968, in Waterloo.

Mr. Moser served in the U.S. Air Force. He graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1954 and Iowa State University in 1964, where he was a wrestler and earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial administration. He was owner/general manager of Porta Vet, Hudson, for 35 years, retiring in 2005. He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Waterloo Elks Lodge, Sunnyside Country Club and Reinbeck Country Club.

Survived by his wife; two daughters, Jennifer Lynn Moser of San Diego and Kelly Jo (Byron) Militello of Des Moines; four grandchildren, Mitchell, Logan, Mason and Beau Militello, all of Des Moines; a brother, Stanley (Mary) of Hudson; and two sisters, Karen (Bill) Eastman of Sun Lakes, Ariz., and Nancy (Rick) Heacock of Cedar Rapids.

Preceded in death by his parents.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Locke Funeral Home.

Memorials may be directed to National Wrestling Hall of Fame Dan Gable Museum.
