FALLING TREE CAUSES DEATH

Waterloo - Feb. 13 - John Kober, 72, Traer, died at a hopital here last night of injuries duffered earlier in the day when he was struck by a falling tree while cutting wood.

Born Jan. 26, 1868 in Tama County, Iowa, Son of George Frederick and Elizabeth J. (Granger) Kober.

He married Olive R. Van Vliete January 16, 1895 at the home of her parents. The couple farmed for five years in Geneseo Township, and later farmed four miles northeast of Traer. Later they quit farming and moved to Waterloo, where Mr. Kober was employed by Waterloo Gas Engine Co.

In 1924, they moved to Minnesota, where they farmed until 1931, when they retired and moved to Traer.

Preceded in death by his parents and two daughters, Ruth and Doris, victims of a train wreck near Greene, Iowa on June 3, 1916.

Survived by his wife.

Burial in Elmwood Cemetery at Waterloo.
