Private services for Verna B. Sagles, 71, of South Bend, Ind., formerly of Waterloo, were Wednesday in South Bend with burial Friday in Memorial Park Cemetery, Waterloo. She diedMonday morning (June 5. 1989) at Healthwin Hospital, South Bend. The cause of death was not available.

She was born Oct. 22, 1917, in Waterloo, daughter of Harry C. and Lena McLeod Sagles. She was a graduate of East High School. She retired in 1985 after 22 years as a sales representative for Boise-Cascade of Elk Grove Village, Ill. She also had managed shops in hotels in Milwaukee, Wis., Scranton, Pa., Miami, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, and Havana, Cuba.

Survivors include a sister, Anna Mae Masters of South Bend.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph B. Sagles, in 1988. Welsheimer Funeral Home, South Bend, was in charge of arrangements.
