WATERLOO — Marllis Madge Carpenter, 86, of Waterloo, died Friday, June 28, 2013, at Covenant Medical Center.

She was born June 11, 1927, in Borger, Texas, daughter of Everett and Madge Crawford. She married John Carpenter on Feb.11, 1950, in Skellytown, Texas. He died Feb. 17, 1995.

She was employed at the Blacks Building and was also a homemaker.

Survived by a son, Bruce (Tonya) of Waterloo; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents, her husband; a son, Brian; a brother, Harold Crawford; and a sister, Marjorie Huval.

Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, with burial in Waterloo Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday and also for an hour before services Tuesday at the funeral home.
