WATERLOO — Lena Janette Mathis, 102, of Eagle Grove, formerly of Phoenix, Des Moines, Waterloo and Fort Dodge, died Thursday, June 27, 2013, at Rotary Senior Living, Eagle Grove.

She was born Jan. 11, 1911, along with her twin brother, Leonard, in Seibert, Colo., daughter of Herman and Louise Anderson Anderson.

Preceded in death by her parents; a son, Eugene Anderson; two sisters; and two brothers.

Survived by a daughter-in-law, Martha Anderson of Cedar Falls; three grandsons, Steve Anderson (Michelle) of Champaign, Ill., Jim Anderson of Fridley, Minn., and John Anderson of Fort Morgan, Colo.; and five great-grandchildren, Colin, Aaron, Wesley, Jarrett and Amy.

Services: Her wishes were to have her body donated to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City for medical research. Foust Funeral Home, Eagle Grove, is assisting the family.
