Memorial services for Mary Alberta Callahan, 90, of Harlingen, Texas, formerly of Waterloo, will be at a later date in Waterloo. She died of natural causes Friday (Jan. 15, 1988) at her home.

She was born Sept. 25, 1897 in Chicago, daughter of Thomas and Nora Eaton Leonard. She married Edward J. Callahan on June 9,1923. He died in July 1981. She worked at the Illinois Central Railroad freight office for 25 years. She lived in Harlingen for one year.

Survivors include a stepson, Thomas J. Callahan of Harlingen; a stepdaughter, Betty Legere of Fort Edwards, N.Y.; four sisters, Nina Martin of Ackley and Alma Carroll, Dorothy Eveland and Betty Watson,
all of Leesburg, Fla.; and six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Beryl Malven in December 1987.

Pitts-Krieler-Aschcraft Funeral Home, Harlingen, is in charge of arrangements. The body was cremated.
