Memorial services for Lillian Ellen Avery, 83, of Tucson, Ariz., formerly of Waterloo, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Edward's Catholic Church with interment in Nashua. She died of a heart attack Wednesday morning (Jan. 13, 1988) in Tucson.

She was born Dec. 21, 1905, in Marion, daughter of Daniel McGrath and Ellen Loretta Burke McGrath. She lived in Waterloo for 50 years and in Tucson for the past three years. She was a beauty operator and a teacher at Pitze's Beauty Salon for 30 years. She also was a teacher before her employment at Pitze's.

Survivors include a sister, Genevieve Von Berg of Charles City; a brother, Marion McGrath of New Hampton; two daughters, Maureen Hansen of Perry and Lynnette Flammang of Tucson; and 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

The body was cremated.
