CEDAR FALLS — Arlene M. Rucker, 91, of Cedar Falls, died at home Wednesday, June 19, 2013.

She was born Jan. 29, 1922, in Buckeye, daughter of Oscar and Lena Broer Smith. She married Virgil Harless, and he preceded her in death in 1944. She married Willard Harold Asmus in 1945, and they later divorced. She married Leslie H. Rucker on June 24, 1950, in Waterloo, and he preceded her in death in 1975.

Mrs. Rucker worked for the University of Northern Iowa as a housekeeper, retiring in 1986. Following her retirement, she was a volunteer at Allen Hospital in Waterloo for 20 years.

Survived by three daughters, Eileen Staner of Colona, Ill., and Debra (Ken) Harting and Dawn Rucker, both of Cedar Falls; two sons, Harold (Darlene) Asmus and Dennis Rucker, both of Cedar Falls; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and two dogs, Spice and Buster.

Preceded in death by her parents; a son, Everett Rucker; and three brothers, her twin brother Arlie, Everett and Willie Smith.

Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at Nazareth Lutheran Church, with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home and also for an hour before services Saturday at the church.
