Marian R. Holtz (1914-2008)

CEDAR FALLS- Marian R. Holtz, 93, of Cedar Falls Lutheran Home, died Tuesday, April 22, 2007, at the home.

She was born May 28, 1914 in Benton County, daughter Louis M. and Margaret (Speck) Holtz.

Ms. Holtz received her teaching certificate from Coe College and taught in one room schools around Dysart. During World War II, she worked as a welder, and later was employed with the Department of Agriculture as a data processing agent in both Chicago and Kansas City, MO.

Survivors include her niece, Pat Burgess of Belvedere, IL; and a nephew, Dan Holtz of Iowa.

She was preceded in death by a brother, John Holtz and sister, Helen Burgess.

Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home Chapel, with interment in the Dysart Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the Lutheran Home Chapel.

Memorials may be directed to the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home.
