WATERLOO — Vincent N. Lobdell, 99, of Medford, Ore., formerly of Waterloo, died Friday, June 7. 2013.

He was born Dec. 22, 1913, in Waterloo. He married Vivian Matilda Smith of Waterloo in 1935. He married Violet May Rempert in 1973.

Mr. Lobdell worked at the Lobdell Hatchery on Rainbow Drive in Waterloo until 1952. He served as mayor of Castle Hill from 1949 to December 1952, when the family moved to Medford, Ore., where he was the general manager at Hart’s Hatchery. In 1962, he became an assessor for Jackson County, Ore., until his retirement in 1980.

Survived by his wife, Violet; two daughters, Jacqueline Helm-Mueller and Judith Free, both of Mesa, Ariz.; a son, Ralph of Jupiter, Fla.; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lula Lobdell Shimp Macdonald of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by a sister, Vinona Lobdell Hunemuller; and a brother Gail, both of Waterloo.

Services: burial will be in the Lobdell family plot at Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorials: in lieu of flowers may be directed to the Lions Club.

Vincent remained active in the Elks, earning a life membership. He was active in the North Medford Lions Club for many years and was presented with the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award. Vince participated in several bowling leagues and continued to bowl until he was 93.
