Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Kearns-Dykeman Chapel for Frederick G. Schmidt, 63, of 1808 E. 4th St., who died at 4:50 p.m. Sunday at Allen Memorial Hospital after a lingering illness. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Monday.

He was born in Kenosha, Wis., March 1, 1907, the son of Herman and Wilhelmina Pohlmann Schmidt. He married Frieda Wolfgram on April 2, 1936 in Sumner.

Mr. Schmidt was a resident of Waterloo for 27 years, coming here from Sumner, and was employed by the Rath Packing Co. until last Aug. 1 when he retired. He was a member of Local P. 46 Amalgamated Meat Cutters and

Butchers Workmen of North America, AFL-CIO. .

He is survived by his wife, one son, Staff Sgt. Roger of Fort Sill, Okla.; four brothers: Walter of Oelwein; Elmer

of 931 Adrian.St.; Edward of Oren and Russell Sehase of East Moline, Ill.; three sisters, Mrs. Erna Faust of Oelwein; Mrs. C. E. Beck of 156 Independence Ave.; and Mrs. Ray Larson of Davenport.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers.
