Funeral services for Clifford L. Gosden, 78, formerly of 836 Dawson St., will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday , at Chapel of Memories East. Mr. Gosden died at Windsor Estates Convalescent Home, Cedar Falls, at 10:30 p.m. Saturday of Parkinson disease. Friends may call at the East Side chapel after 7 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in the Cascade Cemetery.

He was born Jan. 17, 1891, in Hazel Valley near Cascade, the son of Henry and Mary Bevan Gosden. He lived in the Waterloo area the past 43 years and worked as a security guard at the John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works before his retirement.

Married to Myrl Martin Jan. 29, 1913, in Cascade, he was a member of SU-Paul's United Methodist Church.

Surviving are two sons, Carl of Sydney, Australia and Byron of 1909 University Drive; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild; a brother James A. Gosden, Cascade; a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Aitchison of Postville.

He was preceded in death by his wife, brother, a daughter and a brother.
