WATERLOO — Ruth Margard Wuehr, 86, of Waterloo, died Saturday, June 8, 2013, at United Methodist Hospital, Des Moines, of natural causes.

She was born Sept. 11, 1926, in Mainz, Germany, daughter of Henry and Elisabeth Licht Hofmann. She married Hans Wuehr on May 12, 1950, in Mainz. He preceded her in death.

She received her schooling in Germany. Mrs. Wuehr worked at Allen Hospital in the kitchen and as a seamstress.

Survived by two sons, Tom (Joyce) of Ankeny and Andrew of Sheldahl; two grandchildren; three sisters, Hilda Anderson and Marga (Clarence) Kirchhoff, both of Waterloo, and Ellen (Clarence) Ehlert of Sumner; and a brother, Heinz (Sharon) Hofmann of Waterville.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Parrott and Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, with burial in Waterloo Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel.
