James A. Luck, 80, of Waterloo died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2008, at Ravenwood Nursing & Rehab Center.

He was born March 27, 1927 in New Hartford, son of Herman and Wava Jepperson Luck. He married Florence Wildeboer on April16 1945 at Open Bible Church in Waterloo Iowa. She died September 29 1986. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII in Europe. He was employed as a heating and cooling technician throughout Waterloo mostly with Fuel Oil Service Alstate Heating and Cooling which later became Lucks Heating and Cooling retiring in the late 1990s.

Survivors include a daughter, Jennifer (Ron) Olson of Waterloo; two grandchildren, Kyle J. Luck and Destiny D. Luck, both of Evansdale; foster granddaughter Tasha Voigts of Waterloo; a special friend, Dorothy Schwab of Waterloo; a brother, Jack (Bonnie) of New Hartford; two sisters, Marian Lindberg of Cedar Falls and Verna Buchard of Wisconsin; sisters-in-law, Vernice Luck of New Hartford and Janet (Gene) Medhaug of Waterloo; many nieces and nephews.

Preceded by a son, James A. Luck Jr.; a brother Dale; a sister Eunice Christiansen; two brothers-in-law, Marvin Lindberg and Pete Christiansen.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church with burial in Beaver Grove Cemetery both in New Hartford. Public visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street and continue for one hour before services at the church on Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers, make memorials to Allen Hospital Foundation or to the family.
