WATERLOO — Howard Erwin Lemke, 88, of Waterloo, died Sunday, June 9, 2013, at Bartels Lutheran Nursing Home, Waverly.

He was born April 18, 1925, in Sumner, son of Erwin and Ella Buhr Lemke. He married Lorraine Keavy on April 7, 1945, in Alexandria, La.

He served in the Air Force during World War II.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Al (Judy) of Belvidere, Ill., and Larry of Thailand; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents; and an uncle and aunt, August and Nora (Buhr) Frahm.

Memorial services: will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be directed to the Bartels Retirement Community.

Howard had an interest in cars and was known as the Premier Car Guy for 42 years. He enjoyed hunting and most of all fishing.
