James A. McCleery Sr., 63, died Monday, 1 p. m., at the Hampton hospital from carcinoma. He had lived at 2126 Mulberry St. until moving with his wife to Hampton in July.

He was born Oct. 4, 1895, in Waterman, Ill., the son of William and Nellie Robinson McCleery. He married Muryl Shannon at Sioux Falls, S. D., Oct. 4, 1916.

He had been employed in Waterloo by Sibert's Laundry and Dry Cleaners, Inc.

He is survived by his wife; one son, James A. McCleery Jr., Omaha, Neb.; one daughter, Mrs. W. H. Yeutter, Hampton; three sisters: Mrs. Orland Postle, Medical Lake, Wash., Mrs. Mervin Wright, Bowersville, Ohio, and Mrs. Kenneth Wielert, Geneseo, Ill.; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, 10:30 a.m. at Parrott & Wood Chapel. The Rev. Charles Luce, assistant pastor of Grace Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
